Too little pickling leaves residues behind, while excessive pickling may damage the metal surface or cause over-etching.Because pickling involves strong acids, safety and environmental control are essential. Operators must use proper protective equipment and maintain ventilation, acid-resistant tanks, and monitoring systems. Waste acid and rinse water need treatment before discharge to reduce environmental impact.
